Superman & Lois 3x1 : Closer review
Be warned there will be SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it.
Superman and Lois returns for it's third season and after a near flawless first two seasons can this season live up to expectations?? the episode opens up with the entire Kent family going inside of their new Fortress of Solitude. It's an entire new setup and as far as I can remember it's the first time all of the family are in the Fortress at the same time. It is not the only new thing that is happening as soon we're back at the Smallville Gazette where Clark now has a job. He gets underway and seems extremely happy to be there. Even more happy we see him and Lois in bed together having spent the night and morning together, it all ties in later don't worry. While in bed we hear the name Bruno Mannheim being mentioned again this time by Lois. She is getting ready to investigate him and his ties to the gang named the Intergang. There's a big mystery going on here and it's all already beginning to kick off especially given how this episode ends.
Clark and Lois are back on the farm and it is here where what I just mentioned begins to unfold. Lois tells Clark that she is pretty certain she is pregnant. Clark can't believe it at first but it's definitely possible. Could another super-baby be right around the corner?? as for the boys Johnathan and Jordan we see Johnathan starting his driving tests so that he can become a fully fledged legal driver. As for Jordan he is using his powers and pushing himself even further than before. We see him flying with Clark and even trying to stop pure destruction from happening in Malaysia of all places. He's just trying to help but Clark doesn't agree and is pretty hard on him. It does get a bit better for Jordan as it's not long before it is him and Johnathan's 16th birthday party with everyone invited including Mayor Lana whose duties are piling up and even Sarah who still wants to be friends with Jordan even if she doesn't want to date. As for the news of Lois being possibly pregnant it turns out that she is infact not pregnant as she gets a call from her doctor. She does require further tests however.
The episode draws to a close as while at the party Clark overhears something far away. He rushes off and comes face to face with an old foe named Henry Miller who seems to have powers and very strong powers at that. The two face off with Miller ultimately being seemingly shot by someone in a weird mask. This character is Onomatopoeia and he is a skilled killer who who usually targets non powered super-heroes. What is he doing?? and why kill Henry Miller who is so obviously powered?? it sort of makes sense at the end of the episode as it ends with Henry Miller on a table being treated by a doctor. He is being pumped with something but he is not alone in the room. Also present is Onomatopoeia and none other than Bruno Mannheim. It's clear that Intergang is doing experiments on people but just really what is the end goal here?? the episode ends right there and to be honest I didn't really like this one all that much. Just felt boring for the most part which is not how I wanted to start the season. An interesting ending and overall mystery going on so here's hoping things will improve starting next week.
