Legends Of Tomorrow 7x10 : The Fixed Point review

Be warned there will be SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it.

Legends of Tomorrow returns with a new episode and after 2 pretty bad weeks of this show can this weeks episode get things back on track?? the answer is a resounding yes! it opens up with the Legends discussing Gideon's plan of attempting to stop the assassination of killing the Arch Duke Frans Ferdinand thus stopping World War I for happening. There is a bit of a problem however as said moment in time is called a ''Fixed Point'' something that cannot and should not be tampered with. But Sara and co have a plan of action in place one which includes stopping the Arch Duke from being killed in cold blood by a group of 3 assassins who work for an organisation called The Black Hand. So it's off to a place called Sarajevo in 1914 where the assassination is set to take place. At first Sara and Nate scout ahead at a bar where the three Black Hand members are meeting up before they plan to kill the Arch Duke. Sara and Nate see this as an early opportunity to kill them by poisoning their drinks but end up getting stopped right in their tracks by a mysterious man who tells them stop, they wouldn't want to be making a scene now would they?? he pulls them off to the side and into a back room where he just up and walks into a mirror. Bemused by this Sara and Nate join him and end up going through the mirror which leads them to a bar called The Fixed Point. Inside they're met with an entire community of time travelers who are all like them intent on stopping the assassination of the Arch Duke but to many it's failure after failure as it's a moment in time that isn't meant to be altered or changed.

It's inside this bar where Gideon is shocked to learn that time essentially fights back and can actually kill anyone who intends on changing any fixed points in history. The Legends well Sara who is Captain gets a ticket and waits for her turn to attempt and save the Arch Duke and almost instantly she fails stopped right in her tracks by a ladder that smacks her right in the face. Not one to be deterred however Sara pushes forward and with help from the other Legends manages to get further than any other time traveler has done. It's all wonderfully done in a montage that is equal part funny and epic. She ultimately fails again the legends being called ''Failures of Tomorrow'' back at the bar by a group of young time travelers. While a final plan is put in place to kill the final Black Hand member the Legends discover that it's not time that is killing / stopping people from altering this fixed point in history it's actually a person in a hat that when looked back on over some film frames disappears in and out of frames within seconds. Who could it be?? well it's pretty obvious to be honest..

The episode draws to a close as Sara and the rest of the Legends finally get the job done and stop the 3 assassins from killing the Arch Duke. When she stops the final guy from firing a shot off time comes to a stand still with everyone and everything freezing around her. This is when she meets the person who has been ''fixing'' time and it's none other than Eobard Thawne himself. It's later revealed that this is actually the same Thawne that fought and was a part of the Legion of Doom from Legend's second season. After a fight between the two former foes in a back alley they agree to sit down and talk which is where Eobard explains just how he is here and how he has no super speed. Turns out that the Black Flash didn't kill him in season 2 well he almost did but time wraiths came to his rescue and placed him at this fixed point in time. It is his duty to protect this time period and stop anyone from trying to change the course of history. At the end of each 24 hour period he goes back in time to the start of the day again forced to relive the day over and over again. Why is Sara here he asks to which she says she only wants to stop the assassination of the Arch Duke for enough time to trick evil Gideon and her Robo-Legends into thinking they've caused a major timeline disturbance so they come to the time period which is where she and the rest of the Legends will take back the waverider.  Thawne actually agrees to Sara's request and gives her a total of 40 minutes to get her team in order, get the waverider back and leave. If she is unsuccessful in these 40 minutes even for a second over the time he will be forced to fulfill his duty and kill her. Sara takes his word and goes to get the rest of the Legends as the waverider arrives with the episode ending on Sara saying this is their one shot to get things right. And that was the episode, unlike last week this was so much fun, really well done and played out really well It's not a perfect episode but the difference between this and the last two episodes is truly night and day. More like this and the Legends will be back firing on all cylinders.
