Venom Let There Be Carnage review

Back in 2018 Venom was unleashed unto the world and it was far from perfect but boy was it entertaining. It's now 2021 and after delays Venom's sequel has arrived and it is as fast paced if not even more so than the original. Tom Hardy reprises his role as Eddie Brock / Venom and after the events of the first movie they're somewhat living in harmony. They've worked a system and works for them. But when Eddie Brock gets a call to visit on death row Serial Killer Cletus Kasady his entire life will change as he unknowingly creates the villainous Symbiote Carnage.

Venom Let There Be Carnage is incredibly fast paced. It's so fast paced that it's hard to keep up with what's going on at some points. Tom Hardy is good here much like he was in the first movie and he seems to be having a ton of fun. The banter between him and Venom is easily the highlight here in a movie that tries very hard to be funny and while some scenes are very funny others are flat out cringe worthy. Woody Harrelson joins the cast here as Cletus Kasady / Carnage and his performance is as one note as they come. It's actually much better when he is in his Carnage form as that's when the real fun begins. That goes for the majority of the movie really as when the focus isn't purely on the Symbiotes it's just not very intriguing or entertaining overall. By the time the Venom Let There Be Carnage's credits begin to roll you'll likely be shocked at just how fast it went by. It has a relentless pace like I mentioned and it helps the movie as a whole.

This is a sequel much like it's original and while as a film it is extremely flawed full of plot holes and utter nonsensical storytelling and things like being able to use the power of the Symbiote to hack into security Venom Let There Be Carnage is a highly entertaining wild ride that will leave you wanting a third entry into this truly bizarre series of movies.
