Batwoman 3x2 : Loose Teeth review

Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it.

This weeks episode of Batwoman is an interesting one that's for sure. The episode opens with something out of a horror movie. Two students break into a inside pool area and jump inside. While inside the guy pretends to disappear to scare his girlfriend?? or does he?? as within seconds he resurfaces but not by his own will. He is thrown around in the pool by something before finally being dragged down under with the water turning red. The girl attempts to escape but also ends up getting dragged under the water being totally devoured by whatever was under there. Well just what was under there?? well it was none other than Batman villain Killer Croc as it's reported on the news the following morning. But this isn't the classic Waylon Jones version of Croc it is a new version much like The Mad Hatter that we saw last week. According to Luke Waylon Jones was killed. Blown up by the GCPD even after Bruce tried to save him. All that remained was an infected tooth which is what this new Croc managed to get his hands on. His name is Stephen and he is at large in the sewers.

At the end of last weeks episode we learned that Alice and Batwoman are set to work together in finding all the missing villain trinkets and weapons. We see Alice in the bat-cave Ryan not leaving her out of her sight. According to Renee Montoya if Alice escapes or anything else happens Ryan will be to blame and it will lead to them both sharing a cell in Arkham. Pretty ruthless from Renee here. We're soon back at Wayne Enterprises and a surprise guest soon is seen being dropped off by a helicopter. It's none other than the mysterious business woman we saw last week who I predicted to be Ryan's mom and it turns out that yes this is Jada Jet head of Jeturian Industries. She comes to meet Ryan after the cyber security crack on her companies system last week. Ryan denies knowledge which was a pretty bold move. Mom and daughter are face to face here without the mother knowing as before she came into the room Sophie informed Ryan that Ms Jet is her mom. Ryan handles the situation well here by standing her ground but does look rather emotional afterwards.

The episode draws to a close as Killer Croc kidnaps a new victim. This time a young girl while she and her family are out in a wooded area. She is taken to the sewers but isn't eaten. When we see her down there she is surrounded by bodies and saliva which acts as a sort of sleeping agent that knocks it's victims out. When the news of Croc's latest attack gets to Batwoman both her and Alice head to the location where the girl was kidnapped. It's right above a sewer entrance which leads them right below Gotham. When below they run into a man who has been leaving all sorts of bait for this new Killer Croc. It turns out this man is the father of the boy who transformed into Croc. He seems helpful at first but soon ends up using a giant taser like weapon on Batwoman stopping her in her tracks. He ends up getting dragged away by Croc however as he doesn't even know who or what is happening anymore. When the father is dragged off he leaves his weapon behind which leads to Alice destroying her security bracelet around her ankle. This leads to her making an escape attempt out of the sewers which she attempts successfully at first. When Batwoman comes to she sets off to stop Croc and save the young girl while she asks Batwing to deal with Alice. Both assignments get done and in pretty swift and accurate fashion. With Croc defeated he is sent to Arkham while Alice who gets injected with nano-bots by Batwing is also placed back at Arkham. The episode ends as Mary informs Luke that his problem inside the Batwing suit is physical rather psychological. But also we get one final scene as Ryan goes to visit Jada Jet this time getting straight down to the point. She tells her that she is her daughter leaving the woman with a stunned face. This was very interesting indeed and sets up what is sure to be family drama. Overall much like last week this was a very solid episode. Killer Croc's design and effects were really well done to be honest. He was done pretty well and having both him and Mad Hatter as new iterations has been a really good and fascinating idea. Hopefully we get different versions of other classic Batman villains. Maybe a female Penguin?? or Poison Ivy not being Pamela Isley?? whatever may happen I am fully jacked in and wanting more. See you next week Batwoman!
