Superman & Lois 1x14 : The Eradicator review

Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it.

Superman and Lois returns from it's hiatus with the penultimate episode of it's first season. When we last saw this show we saw Morgan Edge literally become the eradicator itself. Embedding him with supreme power he can now use this power to turn people in Kryptoninans. With that being said the episode begins inside of the Kent family home. Inside we hear that a lot of local businesses have shut down due to Morgan Edge not being around anymore. Plenty of the businesses are struggling very bad with the people in Smallville also being pretty upset with the whole situation. The D.O.D especially as various members of the organization walk the streets of Smallville which the citizens say is driving others away from the area. This all comes to a head at a town hall meeting where General Lane is present taking questions from some very angry people. Lois and Clark are also present but just as things are getting a little out of control Clark hears something in the distance. It turns out that Morgan Edge has busted Leslie out of her cell and taken off with her. General Lane, Lois and Clark all are seen leaving the hall with the people angrily shouting at them demanding both answers and a way to resolve everything that is going on.

With Edge and Leslie now in the wind we soon learn of just where they're gone. They're in Metropolis and with the newfound power that General Lane witnessed first hand in the last episode he is surely strong enough to destroy the city with Leslie. Superman, Lois and John Henry Irons soon show up and immediately see Morgan Edge floating in the air above a park in the middle of Metropolis. A big number of people have gathered around the area too as Superman and Steel begin to get ready to charge forward they're met by 4 new Kryptonians created by Edge. A fight erupts within the city that leaves destruction in it's wake. Superman and Steel manage to defeat these new Kyrptonians but in between there is a really cool moment that involves Lois Lane. She is atop a building reporting live from the scene. It's a direct call back to what happened to John Henry Irons wife Lois on his Earth. This time he gets some redemption and uses his hammer to save Lois from being completely evaporated by Leslie. A great moment not only for John Henry Irons but Lois also. This is what I talked about before with this show just ties everything back up together it's wonderful.

The episode draws to a close as with the 4 Kryptonians defeated Superman and Steel charge at Edge but get thrown back by a giant wave of energy. Edge soon leaves the area to recruit some more according to a captured Leslie. Recruit just who though?? well after going home from a party both Johnathan and Jordan along with Sarah are seen with General Lane about to go home. Edge shows up in the middle of the road stopping the car in it's tracks hurting everyone inside. Johnathan who had earlier been working with John Henry Irons fires off a Kryptonite infused gun but Edge disappears. He is still present however and just up and takes Jordan before flying off into the night sky. Superman soon arrives but he is too late, late even when looking for his son when he uses his super hearing to try and find and hear anything but it's to no avail. He is soon back on the ground and informs Lois of what's happened stating that he has no idea what there next move is. Little do they know however that Morgan Edge has an ulterior motive. We see Edge once again who is now The Eradicator Incarnate. He begins to shoot energy from his hands and it consumes Jordan slowly turning him into something else..someone else. When the process is complete his eyes glow red and he says let us begin and it is clear that Jordan is no more and Morgan Edge or should I say Tal Rho's father is now inside of Jordan. The episode ends right there and then wow what a great episode. A very good set up for next weeks finale that I thoroughly enjoyed. It's sad that next week is already the finale it's come around so quickly. That is a testament to all involved here who have created a Superman show for the ages. Roll on next week!
