Legends Of Tomorrow 6x11 : The Final Frame review

Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it.

Legends of Tomorrow returns from it's hiatus with a wildly enjoyable and creative episode. Our journey begins in Kansas 2021 where Mick, Sara, Spooner and Astra are looking for the alleged final Alien pod in the timeline. They come across a pod but it's empty except for a mysterious box. A box that looks exactly like a motherbox complete with markings on the box. This is surely a nod to that I assume. Both Spooner and and Mick get into a bit of a tiff about the box which glows and begins to emit energy. It's not long before all 4 Legends each grab a bit of the box which leads to them getting transported to a far off location. ''I don't think we're in Kansas anymore'' says Sara as they are actually not even on Earth anymore. They all ended up at a bowling alley called Galaxy Lanes. Upon entry they're greeted by normal looking people who infact are all Aliens. Sara meets the owner who tells her of the bowling alley's problem. It's one of a group of three people named the Pin Killers who one day came into the establishment and took it over. So much so that the owner whose name is Buddy can't do anything or even let anyone inside to bowl. He tells Sara to not challenge the Pin Killers but it's already too late for that as Spooner has already gone and challenged them with little to no real knowledge of their powers and what the outcome of a defeat would entail.

With the Legends vs the Pin Killers taking shape at Galaxy Lanes back inside of Earth (I say inside because it's a very important plot detail in a bit) and we see that Nate and Zari are on a camping trip. They have 24 hours left to spend together before Zari has to go back inside of the Air Totem and let Zari 2.0 back outside so that the timeline doesn't collapse upon itself. As they both make their way to a camping area they're greeted by an overly excited and cheerful couple who tag along with them at almost every opportunity. While inside of their tent Zari and Nate hear about how places have vanished off the face of the Earth which is all a tie-in to the ongoing bowling game between The Legends and the Pin Killers. You see the Pin Killers aren't just any ordinary bowlers. They say they are but they seem to have god like powers as with each victory over another bowling team they place their entire planet into a bowling ball and add it to their trophy collection. And it just so happens this is what will happen to Earth as we see the planet of Earth itself as a bowling ball being used within the game which causes an earthquake and destruction where Zari and Nate are. It's all pretty unique and cleverly done.

The episode draws to a close back aboard the waverider where Constantine who is now more powerful than ever before after having some more time to juice on the vials of blood that we saw him get at the end of the last episode. He ends up conjuring a spell of consisting of earth, wind, fire and water which brings the waverider out of the tempural zone and right into the Earth or should I say the middle of space. The middle of space is right where the bowling alley Galaxy Lanes is. Ava who had been on board the waverider trying on various wedding dresses with Gary runs to the Galaxy Lanes but is unable to get inside as earlier the owner said that nobody was allowed in without a invitation. That is unless Team Legends can beat the Pin Killers. Speaking of that it was soon time for the showdown between the two teams. A 3-3 game of bowling takes place with Sara, Spooner and Mick representing Team Legends. Astra refuses to bowl stating that the place is fungus attraction which was funny and fit perfect with her character. Spooner turns out to be a natural at bowling nailing perfect strike after perfect strike. Mick on the other hand well instead of putting his fingers inside of the ball he just throws the ball and hopes for the best. The Pin Killers lead at first and with a bowling ball accident involving Spooners fingers the Legends look like they're in trouble. They do end up getting help from inside of Earth where Zari shoots a blast of energy at the dome surrounding Earth. This leads to the Pin Killer leader not hitting any pins. With the Legends just needing one strike to win it's down to Astra to save Earth..literally. She rolls the bowling ball in the old school Granny pose and actually manages to hit a strike thanks to a lowly pin hitting the last remaining one knocking it over. The Earth is safe and sound as Sara rolls it back out into space restoring it to it's former position among the various other planets. The episode ends as everyone gathers within Galaxy Lanes where they end up taking one giant group photo. A fitting end to a really enjoyable episode to be honest. The Zari and Nate stuff kind of dragged it down just a little because of how silly it was at times but overall it didn't hinder it too much either. Constantine's ever growing power is fascinating and is shaping up to be something big I just know it. A bowling episode done right? I can't believe it. Legends of Tomorrow just nailed an almost perfect game. Strike!
