The Flash 7x8 : The People v. Killer Frost review
Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it.
The Flash returns with new episodes and after the last time we saw this show it offered one of the worst episodes in the shows history in my opinion. Can this episode get the season back on track or will it slow down further? the episode opens up with Kristen Kramer ramping up her preparations for the trial of Frost which is soon to begin. She mentions some other proposal to a member of security staff that is to play a key role in the trial. At the courthouse Cecil runs over Frost's jail terms all which don't look good. 10-20 years in prison being the most heavy. It's not long before the trial begins and Frost through Cecil pleads guilty to all her crimes in hopes of getting a lighter sentence term. Kristen Kramer who is present at the trial has a trick up her sleeve and it doesn't involve jail time for Frost. Instead she wants the villain to erase her powers through the meta human cure that Cisco and Caitlin first developed a few years back. Heavily against doing this Frost is left to ponder the demand as behind her back Caitlin, Alegra and Cisco go to CCPD to attempt to fumble and destroy the meta human cure in containment. They manage to do so just in the nick of time, can it be enough to help Frost?
The last time we saw Barry and the speedforce they both agreed to work together to take on each new Force member. Mass spikes in seismic activity lead them to a homeless center but the Strength Force is nowhere to be found. They eventually end up questioning a woman named Alexa who is working at the center. Nora comes across very heavily and rude to the woman who tells both her and Barry to leave. The Flash comes instead and manages to get more out of the woman. He learns that she has been experience blackouts and that she was present when Abra-Kadabra destroyed various buildings. But could this woman really be Fuerza the Strength Force incarnate? well The Flash asks her to come back to Star Labs so that Barry and Nora can test her for exactly that. More on that in a bit however as Frost's trial resumes with Joe giving his defense of her stating that she has done so much good for the city. Soon after Joe's statement things take a bad turn for Frost as the prosecutors tell of the meta human cure being destroyed with cameras in the CCPD being destroyed mere moments before so. Frost gets blamed for this even though she never even left the courthouse. What will Frost do now with seemingly no way out but to take the cure?
The episode draws to a close as the trial takes a break as the judge leaves to ponder on her verdict. Caitlin and Frost get some alone time together as the two share a scene that is easily the best of the episode. It's Danielle Panabaker acting both characters as her range is really shown here. Caitlin doesn't want to lose Frost and Frost doesn't want to lose her powers because they're what make her who she is. She decides to not take the meta human cure which devastates Caitlin. But in doing so this also gives Caitlin an idea and as the trial resumes for the final time Frost is her own final form of defense and proposes a counter offer. Life in prison instead of taking the cure. A meta human cure that wasn't entirely destroyed earlier thanks to quick thinking by Kristen Kramer and with help from ARGUS. The judge doesn't take long to come to her decision and sentences Frost to life in prison as the once villain now hero leaves the courtroom in shackles. Is this truly it for Frost? will we ever see her again? most likely not as Caitlin now only remains. The episode ends with a big but expected reveal and that is that Nora who is the speedforce incarnate kills Alexa who does indeed embody the Strength Force much like was expected. Barry tries to stop Nora but only helps her even more by powering the speedforce up even more by throwing lighting at her forming a giant ball of energy. The episode ends with Iris and Barry standing over a lifeless Alex as the Strength Force has been seemingly destroyed. Nora betraying Barry and the rest of the team was expected but killing someone in cold blood like she did? that I did not expect. This was a good episode overall though, not mindblowing or overly excellent but good. So much better than the last episode as the show gets right back on track after a small little bump in the road. Hopefully that was the only blip this season as more episodes like that and it could turn out real bad. I once more look forward to what is coming next.
