Legends Of Tomorrow 5x6 : Mr. Parker's Cul-De-Sac review

Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it.

Legends Of Tomorrow returns from it's week hiatus and begins all the way back at the end of season 3 where a Giant Beebo took on Mallus the time demon. A mere hours later text flashes on the screen and we see Gary cleaning up after the titanic tussle. He turns around and sees a figure standing over him. He screams almost instantly as it's not shown who this person is for now. Back at Constantine's house and we see Ray getting some help on his proposal plan to Nora from Behrad and Nate. Ray seems extremely intent on marrying Nora as he hides the engagement ring inside of a chocolate mousse which he is to use for dessert in a giant fancy meal that blows Nora away once she arrives. Speaking of Nora she does arrive at the house and is still chained to the same young girl we saw a few weeks ago. She barely speaks and is more interested in her tablet / ipad than anything else. Nora is blow away by the spread Ray has laid out. She thought they were just having pizza but really Ray went all out for this which is a big deal and perfectly acceptable really when getting engaged is involved. Back aboard the waverider the Legends get word of a new Encore during the Salvation time period of 1874. The same time period where season 3's finale took place. Upon arrival they find Gary strapped to a train track with the train quickly picking up pace. He is rescued by a just landed in Salvation period Sara and Ava upon being rescue he tells them that Damien Dahrk is alive and well. Things take a turn for the worst again however as this Gary isn't actually the present day Constantine's apprentice Gary but instead this Gary is from 2018 right after the Beebo Mallus fight which we saw at the beginning of the episode. It's all a bit confusing really. Time travel really hurts my head sometimes.

Back aboard the waverider and Zari is tasked with helping Mick deal with online trolls who are attacking him and his book series. One troll seems to take things too far and it leads to both Zari and Mick going to visit this person. A young girl opens the door and soon it's revealed that this young girl is actually Mick's daughter. A daughter whose mom is the same woman Mick hooked up with a few episodes back during their high school reunion. It all results in a moment of pure ignorance by Mick however as he not only erases both his daughter and her mom's minds but refuses to take any sort of responsibility for everything. Zari tries to get him on side but it's to no avail. As little as I detailed these scenes were actually really good and added another dimension to Mick's character even if it really didn't go anywhere. Back at Constantine's house Damien Dahrk arrives on the doorstep and greets his daughter Nora whom he thinks is a black mage. This leads to a giant lie by Nora who gets rid of Ray and her child that she is fairy godmother to. Ray takes the kid back to the waverider where he makes her watch a show that he used to watch growing up. It's called Mr. Parker's Cul-De-Sac and it's a parody of Mr Roger's Beautiful Day in the Neighbor hood. The presenter is complete with red sweater and even does the show trick that Mr. Rogers did. The kid soon gets engrossed as Ray joins her in watching.
The episode draws to a close back at Constantine's house where a number of lies by Nora are told. First off is the one that she is dating Constantine. This happens as Constantine and Dahrk bump into one another in the foyer. Another lie told by Nora is that both Sara and Ava are her bodyguards / home help as they are there to aid her in whatever she chooses. Sara just so happens to be wielding the Hell fire sword when she meets Damien again. He thinks it's only some sort of Mongolian artifact as Nora suggests that they all have dinner. Back aboard the waverider and the kid Ray is minding is now obsessed with the Mr Rogers type show and questions Ray why Nora is hiding him. She ends up wishing that they were all back at the house and they arrive just as everyone is having dessert. A dessert where Ray's engagement ring just so happens to be hiding. Also in one of the chocolate moose desserts is a potion made up by Gary of all people that when Damien Dahrk eats will strip him of his powers. Just as everyone is about to eat Ava begins to choke and yes it's on Ray's engagement ring which immediately prompts Damien Dahrk to think it was meant for Constantine to pop the question to Nora. Constantine does actually end up popping the question but pretty quickly Nora ends the entire sham and says that she doesn't love Constantine and isn't with him. She isn't a black mage, she is infact a fairy godmother and is deeply, madly in love with Ray. Ray enters the room and in summary he proposes to Nora who immediately says yes multiple times. This leads to a Legends wedding on the spot as Nora and Ray get married in the foyer of Constantine's home in front of everybody including Damien Dahrk who tells Ray that it'd be best for him and Nora if he gave up the waverider life and lived a normal life with his new bride in the real world. Could this set up why Ray has to leave at the end of this season?? seems plausible. The final thing we see in the episode is not only the newly married couple enjoying time with the rest of the Legends but also that of Damien Dahrk who leaves but not before apologizing to Sara for killing her sister all those years ago. It's okay if she doesn't forgive him he says as he himself hasn't forgiven himself over the murder of Laurel. He steps outside closes the door but Sara notices that the Mongolian sword is gone and on the outside we just about see Damien stabbing himself thus sending himself back to Hell. Back to torment and torture. I really did enjoy this episode. Sure it had it's silly moments but what Legends episode doesn't?? Nora being able to see her dad one final time and on her wedding day no less was really special. In fact Damien Dahrk's character finally getting the send-off he deserved was really well done to be honest. The Mr Rogers parody was excellent. The Legends wedding between Ray and Nora was adorable and overall this was another fine entry to this season's episode list that has been rather impressive thus far.
