Legends Of Tomorrow 5x4 : A Head of Her Time review

Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it.

Legends Of Tomorrow returns once more this time picking up right where last week's episode ended where we saw Constantine open a locked door in his house. Behind it lay the ghost / spirit of Astra's mom. With Charlie on the outside and Gary having showed up things don't appear to be going too well for Constantine as we hear him struggle with the spirit on the inside. Gary and Charlie worry on the outside as moans and groans of struggle can be heard. Gary casts a spell on the door unknowingly letting out the spirit into the rest of the house. The hunt begins.. back aboard the waverider we see Sara interrupt Ava in the bathroom. She tells her that he is now interim Captain as she has business to attend to in Star City. Zari can be seen listening in on the outside for no real reason really. Captain Ava takes her place aboard the ship and calls her first team meeting. Not everyone shows up though as Mick is lovesick after last week's reunion with his high school girlfriend and Nora is off doing her Fairy Godmother duty. This leaves Nate, Ray, Behrad and Zari to join in with Ava's over the top Captain skills which given she was head of the Time Bureau makes complete sense. Placed under a strict rule the Legends mention how French Toast is no longer called that instead it's known as Austrian Toast which immediately leads to Ava asking Gideon to check on the timeline and as expected there has been a shift in time and a new Encore has appeared in Paris 1793. Ava rounds up everyone including Zari complete with god awful looking French Revolution clothes as they all set off to try and fix the issue.

Upon arriving in Paris Zari uses her perfume on Ava which blocks up all senses. This is important however as the Encore turns out to be none other than Marie Antoinette who just so happens to look like Nora complete with a really bad accent. She has the power to charm any and all she comes into contact with thanks to her own perfume which Zari and Ava become immune to thanks to Zari's own perfume which later that day she has a giant unveiling for. The famous words ''Let them eat cake'' are uttered by Marie Antoinette as everyone in the room eat cake like there's no tomorrow and in general become overly obsessed with everything Ms Antoinette does and says. Even Napoleon is present in the building and has succumb to her charms. A few minutes more pass and Zari hatches a plan to get Ava to convince Marie Antoinette that there is an after party happening and it is the party to end all parties. Of course she lets slip to everyone else and a giant stampede takes place which leads to Ms Antoinette being be headed in easily the most funny moment of the episode. Her head and rest of her body are taken back to the Waverider where her body is placed onto a gurney and her head placed in the library where she is left open to talk to anyone passing by. Back at Constantine's house and we learn a lot more about his past thanks to the spirit that was unleashed thanks to Gary. The spirit is Astra's mom as we know from last week and her name is Natalie. Turns out it was all Constantine's fault that she lost Astra to a demon many years back. What's more interesting though is that her and a young Constantine were very much in love which ended in a bad way as ultimately he chose Magic over her. Inside the house the words LIAR, and more are plastered on the walls as it's clear that Natalie is still angry with Constantine.
The episode comes to a close back aboard the waverider as Zari meets Mario Antoinette's head and the two get to talking even if for a brief moment. Zari asks Gideon to show her the future ahead of her perfume launch which earlier she had been forbidden from looking at by Ava. She doesn't listen to Gideon and in her future is a complete disaster of a perfume launch with her losing almost all of her followers and going from Z Nation to 0 Nation overnight. This enrages Zari as she comes up with a new plan and a new perfume. The perfume of Marie Antoinette which she takes to her launch in New York 2044. Upon arrival we meet her assistant, her boyfriend who wears a giant s'more head and the media who await her unveiling. As she greets the media it looks like her boyfriend is going to propose to her but instead he spills the perfume all over Zari which much like back in France leads to a giant stampede with almost everybody in the surrounding area chasing after Zari as she dodges and avoids bodies. Ava, Nate and Behrad arrive in the nick of time and in summary Zari gets rid of the perfume scent by jumping into a fountain with Ava which stops the stampede instantly. Back aboard the waverider Zari oddly looks like her old self complete with red lumberjack t-shirt from one of season 3's best episodes where she was stuck in a time loop. Zari bites into a donut before the episode ends and memories of her past self come rushing back again this time mostly of her just eating. Ava sits with her on the steps of the waverider outside the Captain's room as the two become friends. The episode ends with Astra in hell going to see somebody in an aid to stop Constantine no matter the cost as he's proving a real issue for her and her Encores. She tells the woman to kill Constantine by giving her a medallion of sorts with John's name on it. The woman agrees but wants something done in return which in hell is like a sin in it's own right. The woman turns the medallion down in hell as up in the land of the living Constantine begins spluttering up blood almost uncontrollably. The episode ends with one final twist of the medallion as we see Constantine on the floor of his house with Charlie and Gary standing over him. What a way to end the episode and really besides the Marie Antoinette parts what an episode overall. Zari's character transformation from annoying so called mega social media influencer to part time Legend has been fantastic and Constantine's story is becoming more and more compelling by the week. Legends is on quite the roll right now and shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon. It's got it's mojo back!
