Supergirl 4x20 : Will The Real Miss Tessmacher Please Stand Up? review

Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it.

Another week and yet another great episode of Supergirl as 2 episodes now remain. Beginning with Kara and Lena who we see about to board Lena's plane to head to Kaznia the two speak before hand. Kara says is Lena sure she wants to go and she assures her that she is certain. Of course if she wasn't going Kara would have this all done in an instant but that wouldn't be very interesting as trust me with the inclusion of Lena tagging along to Kaznia things do get very interesting. Skip to Alex and Kelly who are out for a jog. Alex gets a call which turns out to be the adoption agency that she applied for towards the end of season 3. The agency says there is a girl 17 years old who is pregnant, about to give birth who had put her child up for adoption. In fact she got pregnant and told absolutely nobody about it. Alex only has a couple of hours to make up her mind and catch a flight to the UK where the girl is from. Kelly tags along and throughout the rest of the episode the two talk as Alex freaks out about becoming a mom. She thinks of what Kara would say right at that moment and calms down. Kelly says Alex is the most caring person she's ever met. She looks after her friends, Kara, and ever her brother Jmaes Olsen while he was in a critical state. I actually thought something was going to happen between Alex and Kelly who seemed to be only getting closer and closer together as the episode went on. So Alex and Kelly arrive in the UK and after a long period of waiting Alex gets another call. It's not good news unfortunately however as the girl's grandparents called in a priest to convince her to keep the baby and that's what she agrees to do. Leaving Alex devastated and Kelly there to pick up the pieces. I enjoyed this little side plot. Was wondering if they were ever going to revisit Alex's dream of becoming a mom and while this was an odd place to do I did like the whole scenario. Didn't feel like filler at all and I'm sure Kelly and Alex's relationship will only grow even stronger from what happened.

On the way to Kaznia we see Lena and Kara on Lena's own personal plane that flys itself. Even Kara seems surprised by this and her fears are brought to the surface even more as a lightning storm breaks out. Lena rushes to the cockpit to try and slow the plane's descent into the ground as she thinks Kara is in the back sitting down still. Well she's not, instead she is seen flying towards the plane and lifts it above a cliff that would have surely been both their demise. Kara is seen carrying the plane into position as Lena thinks she is doing a manual landing at the Kaznia airport. When she turns back around Kara is back in her seat complete with her glasses hanging off and pretending to be knocked out. After finally arriving Lena and Kara stumble upon a room full of various incriminating evidence towards Lex and what he's been doing. Torturing Aliens, samples of the black rock and deeper into the facility even an entire map / plan of Kaznia invading the USA markers. But Lena and Kara get stopped in their tracks by Eve Tessmacher who seems a lot more stranger than usual. She repeats herself, has various facial ticks so of course she's just a copy right? well yes! more and more copies show up of Eve (hence the title of the episode) Kara even brings back Supergirl to do some battle with the copies of Eve as Lena does battle with another on her plane. Earlier one of the copies had put the building into self destruct mode and as clock ticks down Lena and Kara rush to make it out. But as Lena goes one way and Kara the other Kara stumbles across the Red Daughter's prison cell. Earlier she had seen her on a screen inside of a secret room with the press of Red Daughter's insignia. Blown away by what she saw Kara is even more shocked to stumble upon her cell. Inside is photos of Kara from over the past number of years. Of course she can't let Lena see this and after telling her to use the vents to escape goes back to the cell and uses her heat vision to burn all the photos. This is when she brings out Supergirl and battles multiple Eve copies before flying straight out of the building as it blows up. Lena who sees the building combust into flames thinks Kara is dead but after knocking out Eve is reunited with her friend. This entire scene was amazing. Kara's split second decision about not knowing whether to tell Lena about Red Daughter's prison cell because her identity would be revealed immediately. The duality of Kara Danvers and Supergirl was once again tested and I just loved it. Another little side story going throughout this episode is that of Ben Lockwood. Who walks out on his wife's funeral after her murder in last week's episode. He walks out leaving his son behind to deal with the situation himself. Back at the DEO he seems extremely intent on not only capturing Dreamer as we know from last week but also the alien who killed his wife. Brainiac-5 tries his up most to stop him from taking the raw black rock substance but later while after finding his wife's murder Lockwood and his men are confronted by Dreamer and Guardian. He injects himself with the black rock substance and while Brainy and the others get the better of him we letter see him sitting in the same church where his wife's funeral was with blacked out eyes. It's going to be interesting going forward to see how he handles powers and just his impact overall heading into the final 2 episodes.
The episode draws to a close back at Cat.Co where James and Kara are seen talking. Kara mentions how the Kaznia trip was a success as they got evidence against Lex, but Lena almost finding out her secret was something that Kara says she won't let happen again. She is going to tell her the truth once everything with Lex is finished. James agrees and says it's a good idea to be honest. And being honest is what Kara is all about..well when it comes to being a journalist it is. As at the president's office we see Kara enter. Shaking the president's hand she thanks him for agreeing to meet her. She says she is here because she has found some evidence against Lex and that the Kaznian army are coming and are going to threaten the United States. Kara and Lena earlier had even found out about someone close to the president has been helping Lex this entire time. After telling him the president doesn't exactly seem too upset by what he's just been told. Instead brushes it off almost and thank Kara before putting the evidence folder into his desk drawer. The last thing we see is him pressing a button and a black hood gets pulled over Kara's head. Bit of an odd ending but I guess she is going to be brought to see Red Daughter now?? either way though this episode was fantastic, and proves that season 4 has been a major improvement in almost all areas. It has a terrific main villain in Lex (wish he was seen a lot more) an interesting character arc in Red Daughter and just an overall better vibe and tone than season 3 that certainly was hit or miss at times. This is Supergirl flying (pun intended) super high!
