Legends Of Tomorrow 4x15 : Terms Of Service review
Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it.
The penultimate episode of Legend's fourth season has come and gone and it is as wacky and over the top as you'd expect. Beginning in present day Washington DC we see a young Zari at her home. Her mom walks into the room and is heavily pregnant. She says her young brother seemingly can't wait to meet her as he has been kicking a lot. Zari switches on the TV and is greeted by Ray Palmer (Who is Neron as we know) and sees that he is to launch a new app. It is to be presented at a conference which he calls Palmer X 2019. He ends the advert by saying, and remember the world is in the palmer...of your hand. Moving on and at the Time Bureau we see Gary getting a massage. Turns out him and The Fairy Godmother have bonded and she is to grant anything he desires. Obviously The Fairy Godmother wants Gary to wish ungodly harm especially on the legends. But the first thing he wishes is for him to be a part of Sara, Nora and Ava's book club from a few episodes back. While aboard the waverider we see the legends gear up to go and take on Neron but as the plan is about to commence Sara, Ava and Nora are whisked away into Gary's office to be a part of book club. Extremely angry with the ongoing situation Sara tells Ava to calm down and play along. Before long the entire situation grows tiresome and Gary has Nora go to Ray and declares himself Captain of the Waverider with The Fairy Godmother's help. On board he tasks everyone with a task. Ava's anger only grows towards Gary and Mick bluntly says he wants to kill him which was funny. A bit over the top but funny. Ultimately however The Fairy Godmother tells Gary that the legends truly do not care for him. They only use him. Finally being pushed over the edge Gary grants even more wishes. He wishes that Mick was a big baby, Nate had to suffer through his high school years and finally he wishes for Sara & Ava to dance for him. This was all incredibly silly and extremely pointless in my opinion considering how easily Gary turns back to the good side towards the end of the episode.
At the ending of last week's episode we saw Constantine toss himself into Hell to go and save Ray. It picks up right where it left off last week as we see John arrive in the pits of Hell. Not minutes in and already he gets identified by someone. Turns out a lot of the people in Hell have been sent there by Constantine which makes him a giant target. Inside of a club he meets someone who he banished to Hell but he is also someone who helps him. Constantine wants to find the broker's of souls to do a deal with. He eventually gets his chance to meet Satan himself as a council of the most strongest demons call upon him. Constantine offers them a deal. He will do everything in his power to destroy Neron, who actually wants to become the supreme ruler in Hell by collecting as many souls as he can on Earth before returning to the fiery depths below. Constantine says he will stop him but wants one soul in return. Ray Palmers. He actually get the deal but gets tricked at the same time as Satan offers him a choice. He can choose to save Ray who says he wants out of Hell as quickly as possible. Or he can save Astra's soul. The girl whose name has been dropped multiple times both this season and last. Not surprising that John picks Astra and later as he is brought to a door with his name on the outside Astra appears. Now a fully grown woman she says she doesn't want to return to Earth. Looks like old Johnny's made the wrong choice on this one. More back up above the depths of Hell now and while attending Neron's Palmer X 2019 conference Zari and Charlie go to Zari's childhood home first. Inside Zari is going through the terms of agreement for Neron's new app that he calls Eyes. Turns out that in the terms of agreement all users agree to hand over their souls in exchange for the usage of the app. So that's how Neron will collect so many souls before returning to Hell and his new throne. Zari and Charlie having earlier attended the conference with Nate leave her childhood home, but leave something behind. The Golden Dragon Egg. Zari leaves it behind on the kitchen counter so of course young Zari enters the scene and takes it for herself. This is only going to create even more problems within next week's finale for the legends.
The episode draws to a close aboard the waverider as Nora tries her upmost to save Mona after she was basically used as bait by Neron to show the world that magical creatures exist and that his new app actually works. Nora who gets help from The Fairy Godmother of all people to get inside where Mona is being kept. Not surprisingly she is tricked by The Fairy Godmother who uses her wits to free herself from her chains. She offers Nora her power of Fairy Godmother and Nora (who should be smarter than this) accepts but when she goes to use her magic nothing happens. Turns out she was tricked like I said and as Gary calls out to the Fairy Godmother once more he wishes that she go to Hell to help find Constantine and Ray and bring them back. As Gary says this Nora shows up and gets sucked down into Hell behind him as the rest of the legends call out but to no avail. With Nora now in Hell it's a given that she Constantine and Ray will surely survive in next week's finale. But the episode doesn't end there oh no. It ends as it started with a young Zari. Zari is not only and reveals the Golden Dragon Egg in her possession. It begins to hatch as Zari says hello and that's where it ends. So in summary how was this episode? meh! it wasn't completely awful but it wasn't entirely good either. It felt incredibly silly in parts. The only real interesting stuff was Constantine's side plot in Hell. Next week is the season finale which if anything like last year's will be something special. Until then Legends!
