Supergirl 4x8 : Bunker Hill review

Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it

The Supergirl mid season finale has come and gone and with it we're left a lot of questions answered and still more to find out. It begins with Nia who we see is apparently in some sort of danger from Agent Liberty who is seen wielding a gun in another woman's face. Nia wakes up almost instantly from this dream to her room mate sitting across from her. As we know Nia has been suffering from severe lack of sleep since she told everyone a couple of episodes back. As she heads to work she brings along 3 coffees with her to keep her awake throughout the day. Kara & James are surprised by this as all 3 meet in the elevator. Nia freaks out once more as the elevator door opens to reveal Agent Liberty standing in front of her..except he's not he's just on the TV. Kara promised James that she will speak to Nia later to find out just what is going on.

At the end of last week's episode we saw Manchester Black pulling up to Ben Lockwood's home. Well now he enters the home of Agent Liberty himself pretending to be an old school friend of Ben's. Ben's wife Lydia makes them all tea as the tension levels rise Manchester eventually actually ends up outing Ben to his wife by showing her the Agent Liberty suit and making her husband wear it just before he kills him like he took his fiance Fiona away from him. As all of this is happening Jonn constantly tries to connect with Manchester and get inside of his mind but to no avail really as Manchester constantly manages to wiggle his way out of it. He eventually ends up losing his patience and points a gun at Ben's wife as he threatens to kill her just like he did his fiance. This is when all hell breaks loose and the two battle it out inside the house before it leads to the streets and finally a Lockwood Company factory that has been idle for months now. Strangely enough Ben's wife doesn't really seem fazed by her husband's actions. I mean sure she can't believe what he's done at first but over time it looks like she kind of agree with him as do the whole city once the episode comes to a close.

More on Nia now and Kara goes to visit her after Brainiac-5 drops a major bombshell that he knows her from the future but can't say anything in case it affects the timeline. While at her apartment we learn that Nia is in fact an alien from a distant planet. As for her powers she has the ability to see things before they even happen inside a dream like status much like when Brainiac-5 entered Supergirl's mind after her beat down by Reign last season. Nia keeps seeing a factory in her dream and it is that same factory I mentioned earlier which is of Lockwood estate. As Manchester and Agent Liberty collide inside the factory Nia ends up saving the day by using one of the cranes to take out Manchester leaving Ben and his wife safe. But before all that happened Manchester really showed some Batman like prep against Supergirl by using some sort of black dust that blows up right in front of Supergirl's face and seconds later even submerges our hero in NTH metal. She eventually breaks the metal which isn't easy as Ben is escorted away by police but not before he says that now he is identified how about Supergirl?? and how about Supergirl indeed as back the DEO she is asked by the President himself to reveal her identity to everyone. She declines and is fired on the spot leaving the DEO without it's main hero and only Alex and the colonel left to run it all.

This episode was fantastic. It had drama, excitement, reveals, action a plenty and an interesting ending where the people really seem to have taken to Ben Lockwood as Agent Liberty as he is taken to prison. Leaving Supergirl the enemy now in the eyes of National City. A fine episode and one that leads well into the crossover next week. The main storyline for Supergirl will return in 2019 I presume. Until then Kara it's been a blast thus far!
