Supergirl 3x22 : Make It Reign review
Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it
This week's episode of Supergirl kicks off much like last week's did as it picks up right from where it left off as we see Serena and 2 other women enter the fortress that was opened just as last week's episode ended. As they are all inside they announce their intent to bring back Reign and make her stronger than ever before. At Argo City Kara her mom and Mon-El look for a way to get any sort of message to Earth in an attempt to get back there in time to stop Serena and foil her plan of destruction. They eventually find a way to send a signal to Earth through a crystal from Kara's pod that also is housed at the DEO. Winn receives the message and we get a funny exchange of Kara talking through a hologram of her mom. Winn agrees to help them come up with a way to get back to Earth so they can help but just as he says this Serena and her two allies come crashing into the DEO. Apparently they need the blood of Pestilence and Purity to fully bring back Reign. A Trinity so to speak as one of the Kryptonian's says. A nice nod perhaps to the Trinity of DC (Batman, Wonder Woman and Superman) More on this situation later.
The episode really amps up as Jonn prepares to say goodbye to his father at the DEO he says his goodbyes to Alex and tells her that he his so happy that his son has found a real home with real people who love and care about him no matter what. This was actually a really emotional scene as have all the scenes involving Jonn his father and Alex the past few episodes but this scene really turned the volume up emotionally. As the martians prepare to begin the reach together (a ritual where memories are taken from one mind and passed to another) Jonn puts Alex in charge as he and his father go and begin the process. Sam arrives back at the DEO feeling completely unwell again and looking pretty awful I must admit. She requests the help of Lena and Alex to help her with Ruby in tow who she has promised to never lie to or keep in the dark again. Lena eventually ends up finding out just what is wrong with Sam and it turns out that as Serena brings Reign back Samantha's cells weaken and can't stand to fight against Reign's so Sam agrees to go back into the ''Reign Dimension'' that we saw a few episodes back. Not much really comes of this however as Reign is brought back by Serena after successfully dropping the blood of Purity and Pestilence onto the body of a new World Killer. Coville who up to this point had been helping the Kryptonian's in everything ends up being betrayed and killed it looks like as he is no longer needed.
