Supergirl 3x15 : In Search Of Lost Time review

Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it

This week's episode of Supergirl is an emotional one and it begins as we see Samantha who is in Lena Luthor's care. Sam awakens and refuses to believe just what Lena is telling her. Lena shows her newspaper articles of the destruction Reign has caused and continued to cause before Sam came to Lena seeking for her help. Lena knows that Sam is Reign and she doesn't plan on leaving her out of her cell anytime soon. More on this situation later. The episode really kicks into gear however as everyone is playing charades at Kara's apartment but of course it's short lived as a fight has broken out at the bar everyone frequently visits. There's a genuinely hilarious moment when Kara about to fly off as she usually does refuses to rip open her shirt because as she says 'I like this shirt' it was something small but hilarious to me. At the bar and a telepathic Alien is causing all kinds of problems. She is subdued minutes later but it turns out that it was all caused by Jon's dad who is trying to repair his damaged mind through Martian prayer. It causes people to get angry without any real reason especially telepathic aliens as they can hear his prayer a lot more easy than others. His powers are really shown off in this episode and that's what I've always wanted to see. Martian Manhunter is one the most powerful characters in DC's lore and while it wasn't Jon who showcased these powers it was pretty close.

At the DEO Mon-El gets his suit repaired by Winn and we're finally introduced to Valor (they don't call him that but he'll always be that to me) Mon-El agrees to train Kara in the way of the Legion and tries to teach her how to use her cape to it's fullest potential during combat. So they train and train until Jon's dad's prayers intervene which causes Kara to lose it and punch Mon-El full force into the chest. She later reveals some home truths about him and how she gave her heart to him but he went and broke it by being a complete and utter jerk. As all this is happening the DEO descends into chaos as the Martian prayers continue to have a strong hold on everybody leading to numerous fights among DEO staff. As Jon tries to calm his father he flips out even leaving some past villains out of their cages. A White Martian being one of the big ones. Jon manages to subdue his father and they have a real father to son talk that was one of the real highlights of the episode for me. The sense of raw emotion on show was amazing and I really couldn't ask for any more. Jon's dad agrees for the DEO to help him as he is beginning to really feel powerless with his mind leaving him every now and again. I'm interested to see where this all goes. I have an idea where it's going to lead but I hope they don't go down that route.
More on Sam/Reign now and as Lena also tells her some home truths she flips out leading to Sam entering a dream like state. When she awakens Lena shows her what happened when she entered the state. She went full on Reign trying to escape from the cell. She tells Lena that she must not let her leave the cell until she is cured. She even rings her daughter that was another really emotional scene. The ending of this episode was really emotionally charged for definite. It all ends however as Kara and Mon-El talking leading to Kara apologizing to him but he agrees with everything that she had said. He was a jerk and it wasn't excusable how he carried on sometimes. They both agree to head out together and roam the city from above. But not before birds begin to fall from the sky. What is happening? well it's the 3rd World Killer Pestilence and she has arrived. This episode was really really good. A step up from last week and one of the best episodes this season. Nice to see you flying high again Kara!
