Arrow 6x15 : Doppelganger review

Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it

My reviews of this show haven't been all that good lately and I apologize for that. If I'm being completely honest it's bored me quite a lot this season with what has been almost like recycling of old storylines and similar character traits as in the past. But with that being said this episode while not a true return to from I actually did enjoy. The episode begins as Oliver's lawyer enters his office and informs him that given Cayden James's death the footage / evidence that he had presented to the FBI can't be used against him now that Mr James is deceased. So it looks like Oliver is going to get off the hook, or does it?? as later in the episode his lawyer and the attorney against them meet and discuss the whole ordeal, the attorney informs everyone in the room that they have a new witness and his name is Roy Harper. Yes a returning Roy Harper who I did really like during his time on this show. Also little do Oliver and his lawyer know that Ricardo Diaz basically has practically everyone on his payroll as he ups the stakes in his bid to take complete control of Star City.

After the ending of last week's episode Laurel shows up and informs the press that she is alive. Black Siren is now pretending to be Earth 1 Laurel, even going as far as to tell the media that Damien Dahrk had her imprisoned for 2 years after her whole 'death' incident. This causes major friction between the team as Laurel literally hangs Oliver's secret over his head as a way to get him to cooperate to which he does. The money from last week's episode also gets a mention again as Laurel while still not in possession of it all did get her share and passed on the rest like she was supposed to do in the first place anyways. She vists Diaz and two talk things over. Can I just say something? this season's villain or villains rather just seem so lackluster compared to Promethus last season. He was so on point from his planning to even his identity it was all done so well it just puts this season's big bad's to shame. More on Roy now and Thea actually gets back into the field in this episode. No idea if she's sticking around though but it was a nice surprise to see her back in action as she helps in the team's efforts to save Roy from Diaz's guards. It's also so good to see Roy again after what seemed like an age away.
The episode ends as Thea & Roy kiss and undress one another, but not before a member of the League Of Assassins is seen watching from across the building. They say they have found the heir of Ra's Al Ghul and it ends then and there. No idea what's going to happen going forward but for the first time in a while I am really interested to find out. As I said at the beginning I really did enjoy this episode. While not perfect in anyway it was a good step in the direction and has me hoping that the rest of the season plays out like this.
