Supergirl 3x13 : Both Sides Now review

Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it

This week's episode begins practically from the end of last weeks as Supergirl Alex and the rest of the DEO go to try and apprehend this new World Killer Julia Freeman. As they all enter her house with Winn outside providing backup Supergirl walks up to Julia only for her whole demeanor to change in an instant complete with whited out eyes. She unleashes a sonic scream on everyone in her way. A sonic scream much like Laurel and Dinah's from Arrow. This wipes out all DEO agents but Supergirl manages to freeze over the room that Julia is in leaving Jon to faze through it and apprehend Julia. Back at the DEO we are introduced to this new World Killer..Purity! Supergirl hopeful as ever though is convinced that Julia is still in there much to the dismay of Alex. This causes the sisters to bicker and argue throughout the episode. I love how Kara is always so hopeful even when up against seemingly unbeatable odds. It's a huge part of her character. While they took Purity into custody earlier in the episode a crystal was also seized that Winn researches but can't seem to decode it and find anything useful. This crystal comes back to haunt everyone though as it activates by itself and this leads to Purity to escaping. Supergirl and co learn that she is on the subway and set out to apprehend her once again. This all ends in a climactic battle that leads from inside a subway car all the way into the actual subway station. Reign appears crashing through the roof and takes Purity who Kara managed to talk out of her World Killer state leading her to return to her former self in Julia. She offers herself to Reign and she takes her to the World Killer's fortress. There's still at least 2 World Killers out there somewhere and I'm interested to see just how Supergirl and everyone else will manage to take them down.
There's a lot of other little storylines running throughout the episode like Mon-El not being entirely happy being married to Imra as every time he sees Kara and the more time he spends with her his feelings for her keep resurfacing, which is fine but why is he only saying this now? he has been back for what? 6 weeks or more and now he's only mentioning this. I wish they could have mentioned it a bit earlier but that's just me. He does however tell Imra of his feelings for Kara and she accepts his honesty. She later confesses that she too hasn't been honest with him on just why they are on Earth, but we never find out as that's all we see of them in the episode. I guess we'll find out in April when the show returns. This episode once again felt like last weeks. It wasn't bad and wasn't amazing it was just there. I really hope when the show returns in April it'll pick up the blistering pace it had throughout the first half of the season. I shall await your return on April 16th Kara Zor El!
