Legends Of Tomorrow 3x10 : Daddy Darhkest
Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it
Finally Legends Of Tomorrow has returned and what an episode to come back on. It was a whole lot of fun as per usual but also peppered with some really cool scenes thanks to the inclusion of John Constantine. Speaking of Constantine. The episode begins as we see him in Star City 2017 entering an asylum for the insane. As he goes further into the building he finds a little girl in a room all by herself and withing minutes she is taken completely over by a demon who apparently knows Sara Lance and said demon is also after her. It's later revealed that this demon is in fact Mallus and he aims to take complete control over this little girl who in fact is actually Nora Darhk who has been taken into custody after her father was killed by the Green Arrow in 2017 (as we saw at the end of Arrow season 4) more on Mallus later.
But the real highlight of this episode has to be John Constantine who is played to absolute perfection by Matt Ryan. From spitting English slang to other expletives he is uniquely charming and adds so much to what is already a really strong and fun cast. I really hope he comes back again sometime in the future as I said he really is a whole lot of fun even as his character's main purpose is pretty much demon possession and other out of this world magics. The big thing in this episode though for me has to be when John seduces Sara while him Leo and Sara get trapped in 1969 after a possessed Nora Darhk traps them there after drawing a magic symbol inside of John's supposedly trap that Mallus can't escape from. Him and Sara get it on which was a surprise but not going to lie I kind of like them together. The exchange they share at the end of the episode is rather cute and I hope this relationship gets some more attention in future episodes / seasons. As the episode draws to a close Mallus tries to tighten his control over Sara by almost invading her entire body and trying to make her succumb to the darkness. John ever the gentleman aids her in this and she is able to get them home after drawing the same symbol that Nora had drawn at the beginning of the episode. All while this is going on though we have Ray and Zari go to Star City 2017 to try and get Nora to come around and help them. They think they are going to do exactly that but Mallus once again possess her and she destroys Jitters (which isn't Jitters in Central City and not Star City?) as Zari and Ray try to fight back Zari touches the girl and Mallus seems almost afraid of her and tells her that she is one of the six. Later back on the waverider Zari questions this to which John tells her about 6 totems that could possibly be the key to defeating Mallus but Vixen said she only knows of 5 and that there must be more.
The episode ends as Agent Sharpe calls Sara on board the waverider and informs her that Rip Hunter has escaped custody. This episode was brilliant and hands down my favorite this season which is saying a lot because there has been some quality episodes so far. A really really entertaining ride and just further shows that this show really has found it's feet this season. It is easily my favorite of all the DC shows right now and I look forward to it every single week. Long live the Legends Of Tomorrow!
