The Flash 4x9 : Don't run review
Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it.
The Flash's mid season finale has come and gone and with it came a showdown between The Flash and The Thinker.
The episode begins as Barry and Iris are in their apartment going through gifts that people had sent them last for their wedding they even get one from Oliver and Felicity and this is where the episode starts off on a seriously low note. Iris is still being petty over what happened when Oliver and Felicity took the spotlight on her and Barry's big day. That was a real low blow by the writers of the show and honestly I expected better. Women should be building one another up not tearing each other down. Iris questions Barry about why he hasn't been using his powers as of late to which he replies with why use them to run when he can just stay with her always. These two work so well as a couple getting along rather then when they bicker and fight.
Later as Caitlin has a fight with Ralph and the rest of the team she goes to Jitters by herself and as Harry shows up it's shown that a new drink named the 'Killer Frost' is now available to which Caitlin just laughs it off. Just as her and Harry make up for what happened earlier a returning Amunet busts through the door and says that she needs Caitlin's help with a product of hers. This turns out to be another victim of the dark matter bus attack named Dominic. The 6th victim in fact. Caitlin agrees to help Amunet and she learns that the victim has telepathic abilities and he can read minds. They both overcome Amunet and manage to escape but not before she tries to stop them. Cisco and Ralph learn of her whereabouts and breach to her location where they both stop her and bring Caitlin and Dominic back to Star Labs. More on him later.
As Barry and Iris are walking along in the street The Thinker appears out of thin air almost and lays Barry out kidnapping him in the process. Barry tries his best to overcome this of course but he is taking to Devoe's base of operations. As Joe attempts to find out what has happened to Barry he goes to pay Devoe a visit and Devoe always the manipulator and mastermind manages to wiggle his way out of the situation. We see that Barry is actually trapped in a speedster proof prison and as he talks to Devoe's wife he questions her motives and why she actually is doing this. She is doing this because she loves her husband and will do whatever it takes to stay by his side. Barry thinks Devoe is after his powers but I really hope that isn't his end goal because we've already had that with Zoom and we don't need a repeat.
More on Dominic and and it is learned that before Amunet had asked Caitlin to help her she had struck up a deal with Devoe and his wife to deliver the latest meta to him and as Amunet delivers Dominic, Devoe transfers his entire consciousness into him and he practically becomes him. His former body laying slump in his chair. Later as Caitlin invites Dominic around to Joe's to celebrate Christmas Barry runs home to check on something and as he arrives he gets a phone call from Dominic and he informs him of what he done and what he still has planned. The big cliffhanger though is when Barry walks further into his apartment he sees Clifford Devoe's body laying dead on the floor with droplets of blood everywhere a puncture wound on his chest and a knife placed next to his body, a knife that he had gotten as a gift earlier. The police bust into his apartment and Barry is placed under arrest. Such a nice clever little twist and as Barry is taken into custody we see Devoe who is now in Dominic's body leave with his wife.
It might not seem that I liked this episode but trust me it is one of the best episodes this season and sets up the 2nd half of the season perfectly. See you in 2018 Team Flash!
