Gotham 4x2 : The fear reaper review
Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it.
Picking up basically from where left off last week Gordon Bullock and some cops arrive at the house where they think Jonathan Crane is being kept by the criminals from last week's episode. What they find is much more scary though. One of the criminals basically tied up and placed on a scarecrow out in the backgarden signaling that the Scarecrow is coming complete with the ''HE'S COMING'' line.
On from that we see Bruce locked up in a GCPD cell for the first time ever, Alfred arrives to bail him out but Gordon just lets him go as long as it doesn't happen again which Bruce agrees. On the way out they bump into Lucius Fox who questions Bruce on his clothes being torn and scratches on his face to which Alfred responds with ''We were rock climbing'' just brilliant. Really hope Lucius is brought in on the whole situation as he plays a big part in the comics. Safe to say that he is really thought considering that he makes Bruce's very first proto-bat suit. And wow when Bruce puts on that mask for the first time on a rooftop..just goosebumps.
Barbara is back from the ''dead'' and as she correctly puts it always check for a pulse in Gotham before assuming someone is dead. She wants to start a business with Selina and Tabitha to sell and distribute weapons to Penguin and all the criminals that own those business cards that he has we saw in last weeks episode. Smart move on their behalf get in on all the low lives to make yourself some quick cash.
Ivy loses it in this episode and finally does things her way which I absolutely loved. No more nice and friendly Ivy she is here to be her own woman. She visits some herb shop and drinks potions that the guy who owns had locked away in a vault we see her face all start to change and her eyes go just pure black. Can't wait to see what happens with her as she has always been one of my favorite characters from this show and the comics too.
Onto the scarecrow parts now and we wouldn't be talking about this episode properly without mentioning them. All I'm going to say is that they scary bizarre and just amazing. Perfectly capturing in my opinion what happens when someone gets gassed with the fear toxin. Scarecrow even looks menacing and has such an eerie voice to back it up. Really can't wait to see more of him this season. This is only episode 2 and already I feel like it's going to be the best season yet of Gotham.
All in all this was another very strong episode to back up last week's premiere and just shows that Gotham is the best DC show on TV.
