  1) The Penguin - No other show this year blew me away as much as The Penguin did. Right from the get go I was locked in and boy did this show really over deliver. Firmly declaring itself as much more than just a mere spin off from 2022's The Batman movie this version of The Penguin was everything from that movie and more as Colin Farrell totally transitioned into the Kingpin of Gotham City. Also along for the chaotic ride was Cristin Millioti as Sofia Falcone and Clany Brown as Salvatore Maroni and they're all as incredible as it gets with all three putting in award winning turns in my opinion. It all culminated in a power struggle between crime familes with some paying the ultimate price.   1) Anora : From Director Sean Baker came a modern day masterpiece in the form of Anora. A captivating watch from beginning to end with an Oscar worthy performance from Mikey Madison. About a hooker / showgirls engagement and quick marraige to the son of a wealthy family. No movie moved me and had it's claws dug deep into me more than Anora did this year. A modern day masterpiece like I said and just goes to show that a lot of orginiality still exists in the form of media and film, Anora is more than worthy of being my personal favorite movie of 2024 and I can't wait to watch it again. 2) Furiosa : A Mad Max Saga - In a similar way what Anora did for storytelling this year Furiosa : A Mad Max Saga did for action movies. This move was relentless from beginning to end, it had me on the edge of my seat throughout it's almost 150 minute running time.   Music artists biopics come and go. Over the years we've gotten almost every musical artist in history but we've not gotten one where a Monkey is in the lead role. Okay it's not actually a Monkey it is none other than Robbie Williams telling his life story through the lens of this Monkey like creature in a biopic that is moving and sensational as it is bewildering. Right from the get go it's clear we're going to be entertained and boy is this movie entertaining as not only does the man himself Robbie Williams narrate as we go he also lends his immense voice talents which includes a vast back catalog of hits ranging from the early days of Take That to modern day. A cheeky-chappy is how Robbie Williams is best described especially his early days his attitude to music and overall how he acts is very showmanship and that carrys onto his adult life.   It has been a long time since we last saw a new adventure featuring Wallace and Gromit the lovable duo who graced our screens over 30 years ago. It is now almost 2025 and what a treat to end the year as they return in the biggest and best way possible. The story this time around follows Wallace's latest invnention which he calls Norbot a do it all personal assistant to which he hopes to use to do various things around not just his and Gromit's home but also the homes of his neighbors but something far more sinister may be lurking in the shadows and it's a certainly a blast from the past. Feathers McGraw it's a name sure to send shivers down anyones spine. Last seen in the our heroes second outing The Wrong Trousers he is back and seeking revenge against Wallace and Gromit after they landed him in a prison like zoo for quite some time.   The third installment of the mega popular Sonic The Hedgehog movie franchise has arrived and it is not only rounds off a pretty fantastic trilogy as a whole but it is also one of the most near perfect video game adaptations to date. This time around Sonic, Knuckles and Tails are up against the ultimate lifeform named Shadow. He too is like a Sonic a hedgehog but his power is pure chaos energy. Right off the bat here it's clear to see the John Wick parrelles to Shadow as not only does Keanue Reeves voice him but the overall vibes, presentation and quest for vengeance is all very on the nose. He's got the gun, the bike and his energy is ferocious. It does really work here though as the movie kicks off with a bang as Shadow escapes custody after 50 years in stasis. The last ever episode of Superman and Lois and boy what a journey it has been to get here. From the arrival of John Henry Irons in season 1, to Bizarro and the parellel world all the way threw Bruno Mannheim and Onoaopoeia before finally Doomsday and Lex Luthor. This show has arguably been the most impressive and faithful adaptation of the Superman lore. I'll have more on my overall thoughts of everything at the end of this review but for now let's get into the episode as it begins pretty much where last weeks ended.
