F1 The Movie review

Formula One isn't exactly one of my favorite sports by any means. The thought of racing expensive cars threw a bucket list world locations never really appealed to me so when I first saw the trailer for F1 The Movie I was skeptical to say the least. Well now I've seen it and not only is the movie a proper summer blockbuster but it was easily one of the most thrilling, satisfying and overall brilliant movies of the year so far. Brad Pitt stars as a racing driver named Sonny Hayes who at one point was F1's biggest prospect. His life got turned upside down and inside out when he was involved in a life altering crash on the track. 30 years go by and Sonny now a freelance driver gets recruited into a struggling F1 team by an old friend who is played by Javier Bardem, so  will Sonny join up??

Brad Pitt is excellent here as Sonny Hayes a gritty no nonsense driver who likes to drive hard and not play by the book. Once he joins up with this struggling F1 team his goal is to help them win a F1 Championship. What follows is a real thrill ride of car races, intense character moments and ultimately a real feel good factor. The real highligh here however is the relationship between Pitt's Sonny Hayes and the rookie of the F1 team named Joshua Pearce who is a real hot shot so to speak. What starts off as a feud between the two tranforms and morphs into something really fascinating.

So in summry is F1 The Movie any good?? the answer is absolutely yes it is. It is thrilling, action packed and really feels like a proper summer time blockbuster. It's all wonderfully made with F1's many expensive cars and a huge visual list of locations from the UK, to Japan, Mexico and everywhere else in between. With Formula One not being a real interest of mine this movie was a real pleasant surprise indeed and is well worth checking out more so if you're a big F1 fan as various drivers actually do show up here and play a part too. F1 The Movie is a thrill ride and will do laps around you as it's drives to it's end goal. Brilliant!
