Lilo & Stitch (2025) review

The original Lilo & Stitch came out all the way back in 2002 and overtime it has become a true Disney classic. So as is the norm the past few years a live action retelling / remake is in order and I can now confirm that not only is Lilo & Stitch one of the best to date it is also one of the most meaningful and heartwarming too. The story follows a young Hawaiian girl named Lilo who befriends a runaway Alien whom she names Stitch all while attempting to reshape and reconstruct her broken family bond with her sister. The story is really simple but it is the characters and interactions that shine so bright. Special mention must go to the two 'alien's on Stitch's trial who are the real comedic relief here and they're great! The casting of Lilo is pretty much spot on as not only does newcomer Maia Kealoha bring so much heart to Lilo but also so much playfulness and humour.
